# Hackathon: Porting and Optimization for Hunter

This hackathon is designed to help participants optimize their programs for the HLRS Hunter system and prepare them for Herder. It consists of two phases: an online preparation phase on November 16, and a hybrid coding phase from November 30 to December 4. Participants will work with their codes and workflows with the support of HLRS staff, HPE, and AMD specialists to adapt them for GPU computing, with a focus on scientific codes and AI applications.
